Imagine the desolate forested wilderness of northern Scandinavia. An icy-cold winter’s night. The eerie silence shattered by the piercing howl of a lonely wolf. This atmosphere is the inspiration for Talvatis, the first single by the Swedish band High Coast. Revolving around Daniel Walke’s acoustic guitar and a haunting slide guitar, the listener is taken on a journey through a remarkable landscape that few ever experience.

and the breeze sings to me an ancient mellow tune
i can barely see the trees

this journey seemed to take forever
